Special Requirements and Information:
This
Montipora aequituberculata is unusual in many
aspects. As an encrusting coral you will find
more of the plate versions than this "staghorn"
styled tube version. You can see the many
feeding "mouths" in this image.
Feed anytime during the day. Once they're
accustomed to your tank, they can be introduced
to frozen foods such as chopped blood worms,
artemia or squid. Just remember that your coral
will only accept food that's small enough for
them to use. Make sure that you have other
livestock in your tank to clean up any excess.
Consider feeding them directly with a turkey
baster directly into the bubble areas.
While encrusting corals do not require expert
skills or a lot of attention, they do need good
water conditions and should not be placed in a
new tank.
