Special Requirements and Information:
A very
difficult coral to keep in captivity. As you can
see, the polyps divide into eight "petals" and
are truly quite spectacular when they are
extended. They are very sensitive to high water
flow and can be damaged accordingly. As an LPS,
damage to any part of the coral can kill the
whole animal which is why inexperienced
hobbyists should avoid caring for them.
Feed anytime during the day. They love
zooplankton. Once they're
accustomed to your tank, they can be introduced
to frozen foods such as chopped blood worms,
artemia or squid as long as they're chopped into
small pieces. The skeletal structure will grow in
width and should be supplemented with calcium,
strontium and iodine.
