Special Requirements and Information:
Some collectors shrink from adding fire corals
to their aquariums because of their stinging
cells, but as long as you take care not to come
in contact with care skin, they can do well.
The backbone of many of the oceans reefs, they
also need to be kept in a reef-style tank with
plenty of water flow and available food sources
- don't overdo the protein skimmer but make sure
that the water conditions are otherwise
excellent.
As with all hydrozoans, make sure there are no
broken areas, they are colony growers and a
break can destroy the whole colony. Make sure
the tops are rounded to be assured of a proper
growth pattern.
Understand that, if given good growth
conditions, they can be invasive.
