  Special Requirements and Information:
One of the more interesting of corals, the cactus is not a true reef coral. They actually are more prevalent in areas of reduced activity. Begin low in the tank until they become acclimated and then move them closer to the middle or top. Keep the cactus away from the bottom of your tank. Sediment infiltration at the base can kill off a cactus.
Feed at night. Maintain feeding zooplankton and microalgae throughout the life of the coral. They feed off the organisms in the water column and therefore will do better in an established tank since they will feed on the live food in the water.
The cactus will send out sweeper tentacles, however, they do not appear to be used in coral warfare.
