Special Requirements and Information:
An unusually
difficult coral to keep. While they are nice
additions to any reef tank, they require free
floating organisms in the water column. Placing
Flower Pots too close to the flow source can
interfere with the act of extending the polyps
and lead to starvation. Place low in the
tank until they become acclimated and then move
them where you want. If you use a high end
protein skimmer you will remove most of their
food source.
Feed anytime during the day. Once they're
accustomed to your tank, they can be introduced
to frozen foods such as chopped blood worms,
artemia or squid. Place the defrosted food
directly over the Flower Pot and watch the
polyps extend and move to capture and move the
foods to the mouth opening.
Very aggressive. They will attack their
neighbors with their stinging cells They may propagate
themselves or move on their own.
