Special Requirements and Information:
While Zo's
are a very simple marine form, they can be very
toxic.
To be on the safe side, they should be handled
with gloves and care made to avoid contact with
mouth or eyes. They also will sometimes squirt
when handled.
Star Polyps are another easy coral for the
beginner. They will grow at an amazing rate and
can be cultured by even the novice.
Feed anytime during the day. Make sure that you
use phytoplankton on a regular basis. Once they're
accustomed to your tank, they can be introduced
to frozen foods such as chopped blood worms,
artemia or squid. Place the defrosted food
directly over the polyps. The polyps will
multiply at a rapid rate, given the right tank
parameters and may need to be pruned to avoid a
takeover.
