Special Requirements and Information:
Like deep
purple and black stalactites rising from the
ocean floor. Actually...this coral is cultured,
but look at it's size. It just shows that given
the proper care, corals can be raised outside of
the wild.
As with all Acroporas it requires the best
of water and lighting conditions and regular
feeding of zooplankton for the polyps. Begin away from your light source
until they've acclimated and then move them to
where they can gather the most light available.
Feed anytime during the day. Once they're
accustomed to your tank, they can be introduced
to frozen foods such as chopped blood worms,
artemia or squid. Supplement with strontium, calcium and
magnesium.
Can be aggressive towards their neighbors, so
give them sufficient room. If properly cared for
the arms increase in number and will extend
toward the light
