Also called "Disk Coral", "Button Coral", "Doughnut Coral". Often confused with Cynarina lacrymalis, however the lobes remain opaque even when inflated. Acanthophyllia deshayesiana are semi-aggressive and should be placed on the substrate. Since they don't require bright light, they can be placed in shadows. However, higher lighting can produce spectacular color results, such as in this amazing red-orange version.
Feed anytime during the day. Once they're accustomed to your tank, they can be introduced to frozen foods such as chopped blood worms, artemia or squid. Doughnut Corals will grow in width and should get calcium, strontium and iodine supplemental feedings.
